The CleanCharger packaging concept combines the reusability (Reuse) of complex packaging elements with the minimization (Reduce) and closed-loop recyclability of the primary packaging (Recycle).
Pump dispensers are elaborately designed and often contain contaminants for plastic recycling such as metals or glass. The CleanCharger provides a solution here, because a pump can be reused many times. The same applies to the keeper as an outer container. It is not only a central design element, but also carries the top load during pumping and thus enables the cartridge containing the filling material to be designed in an absolutely minimalistic manner.
The cartridge, in turn, is extremely lightweight and thus avoids unnecessary plastic with each "reload". It can be made from up to 100% rPET, is easy to compress after emptying thanks to its minimalist design and, in contrast to alternative refill packaging solutions on the market, is closed-loop recyclable (bottle-to-bottle).
The outer keeper is reused for years and can therefore be made of a variety of materials and can also be designed a little more elaborately in the interests of durability. There are prototypes from polished, painted and anodized aluminum, painted wood and various plastics.
The cartridge has been minimized to the limits of what is technically feasible through the choice of material, preform design, design and manufacturing process. It is optimized with regard to "sideload" so that it is protected against deformation. The "topload" that acts on the cartridge during pumping and is normally the reason why bottles for pump dispensers are relatively stable and heavy, is carried entirely by the keeper in the CleanCharger.
The combination of the CleanCharger with an "airless pump system" leads to a controlled collapse (squeezing due to the resulting vacuum) of the cartridge due to the design of the cartridge in combination with the guidance through the keeper, which leads to a minimum of waste volume in addition to a residual emptying of >97%.
The CleanCharger is an "ultra-lightweight packaging in premium fur". The cartridge has a stable shape compared to alternative refill packs on the market and therefore looks tidier and of higher quality on the retail shelf. At home, the cartridge disappears into the keeper and is no longer visible to the user. The keeper and the pump can be designed a little more elaborately, as they are reused over many years. They can therefore have an absolute premium look.
Common refill solutions on the market, e.g. from the drugstore, usually consist of a keeper and flexible refill bags. Consumer surveys show that the time required and the fear of spillage during the refilling process are reasons for not using these refill solutions. With the CleanCharger, the refill process is absolutely clean, quick and uncomplicated - and you can do so with a clear conscience.
