The Lifetime Achievement Award in Packaging by the World Packaging Organisation (WPO) seeks to recognize individuals who have made significant and enduring contributions to the packaging industry on both national and international levels.
Below are the terms and conditions governing the nomination and selection process:
1.
Award Overview

Purpose: To recognize practitioners from all sectors of the packaging discipline who have demonstrated excellence and innovation over a prolonged period.

Presentation: Awards will be presented during the Annual WorldStar Awards Ceremony, where recipients will be invited to deliver a brief acceptance speech in English.

Recognition: Awardees will be also honoured on a dedicated page of the WorldStar website.

Eligibility Criteria

Experience: Nominees must have a minimum of 25 years of experience in the packaging industry.

Exclusions: The following individuals are ineligible for nomination:
- Current members of the Judging Panel.
- Current WPO personnel.
- Former WPO members or personnel are eligible after their tenure ends.
- Sitting members of the WPO Board of Directors are ineligible until two years after the conclusion of their board service.

Nomination Process

Submission: Nominations can only be made by WPO National Voting Members. Each member is limited to one nomination, and self-nominations are not permitted.

Procedure: Nominations must be submitted through the online application form available on the WorldStar website.

Content: The nomination should detail the candidate’s achievements and their impact on packaging within their country or region.

Selection Process

Judging Panel Composition: The panel will consist of WPO Board members representing the following regions:
- North America: 1 member
- South America: 1 member
- Western Europe: 2 members
- Eastern Europe: 1 member
- Africa: 2 members
- Asia: 2 members
- Far East: 2 members
- Pacific: 1 member

Appointments: If suitable members from the specified regions are unavailable, the Chair may appoint other directors after consulting with the WPO Executive Board.

Leadership: The WPO President will serve as Chair of the Judging Panel, and the General Secretary will act as Deputy Chair; both will be non-voting members.

Experience Requirement: Judging Panel members must have at least 20 years of experience in the packaging industry.

Decision Authority: The Judging Panel has sole discretion in selecting award recipients based on the merit of nominations.
