It revolutionizes the packaging industry by introducing the world's first PET bottle designed specifically for sparkling wine. This innovative product addresses a need in the market for lightweight, unbreakable containers suitable for sparkling wine and ready-to-drink mix products.
The choice of PET material makes it suitable for versatile production technology: injection-stretch-blow molding or stretch-blow molding. Crucially, the neck of the bottle mirrors the mechanical properties of traditional glass, allowing it to use standard cork capping methods. Its resemblance to glass in design, including the bottom, ensures smooth integration into existing filling lines, demonstrating exceptional functionality.
Sustainability: with a weight of only 90g compared to the 720/750g average of glass bottles, it significantly reduces carbon emissions through more efficient logistics and production methods. Its unbreakability makes it ideal for e-commerce and events enhancing safety. The ability to transport more bottles on a truck without exceeding weight limits further enhances its eco-friendliness.
Even the design of the bottle base has the same look and functionality as glass. This particular bottle design provides a head load resistance of 3500 N. La Spumante bottles in PET have already been tested on traditional filling lines, demonstrating perfect interchangeability with the glass versions in all stages: depalletisation, washing, filling, capping, labelling, transport on belts, packing, palletising. Some numbers on sustainability, an example: in traditional truck transport, a maximum of 21 pallets of glass bottles can be transported (reaching the maximum weight allowed by law before the vehicle is completely filled). La Spumante bottles in PET can reach 32 pallets loaded on the truck without exceeding the weight allowed by law. Indorama Ventures’ advanced barrier resin delivers a monolayer PET sparkling wine bottle with a minimum shelf life of 24 months, and the packaging has glass-like clarity while protecting the sparkling wine’s taste and effervescence.
