Jordan Green Clean
Country: Norway
Category: Health and Personal Care
The toothbrush packaging moulded from recycled fibre replaces the former plastic package. Abandoning transparent packaging is bold, even though the product label has a picture of a toothbrush inside in its real size. The packaging and the content are a perfect match, as the toothbrushes are made of recycled plastic.

The pulp packaging is made of 100% recycled paper and cardboard from trusted and tested sources, to ensure safety of the consumers. The label material is FSC certified and the raw material of the adhesive conform to FDA 21CFR 175.105 (indirect food contact).
By using 100% recycled content Green Clean contributes to a demand for material reuse, supporting local labour in the value chain of recycling business. Since the packaging format is new in this setting and not fully adaptable to current production setup, it employs people at site.
A LCA executed by Norsus (Norwegian Institute for Sustainability Research), commissioned by OHPC, strongly indicates that the net GWP (Global Warming Potential) burdens for the Green Clean pulp packaging are significantly lower - compared to the more traditional counterpart made from PET blister and cardboard backercard.
The pulp packaging protects the product and provides an easy opening in a satisfying way, proving that visual expression and functionality work well together. Not to mention, the plastic display tray has either been replaced with cardboard or integrated in the distribution packaging, without compromising standard measurements or distribution quantity.
The packaging is not only made from 100% recycled material but is also easy recyclable. For the consumer a mono-material packaging is more convenient when throwing away for recycling, than other solutions where materials are mixed. For recyclers, often experiencing cardboard packaging mixed plastic, this should be a preferred option.
