1956 Graduated from Chemical Engineering at Tokyo University After serving as the representative in Japan, of the US-based Packaging Strategies, a group of BNP Media, for more than a decade since 1997, Arita retired from the Packaging Strategies group at the end of 2014.
As the leader of Packaging Strategy Japan, Toshio Arita supported the industry to draw and understand main packaging and market trends, fostering packaging development and innovation before brands, and connecting the packaging industry for greater achievement. Toshio Arita has always given conferences and lectures in Japan and around the world to share his deep knowledge and packaging vision. In this path he made sure to prepare a successor that keeps on supporting the packaging industry and packaging professionals.
A highly generous person, always makes sure to handle a paper containing his future vision on packaging. Also, always ready to connect people around packaging matters. At the age of 90, summing 40 years dedicated to packaging R&D, knowledge and strategic research, Toshio Arita is still doing business by utilizing his human network that has been widely established both in Japan and overseas, mainly the US, Germany, Sweden, and UK.

*Honorary Member of IPPO *Inductee of Packaging Hall of Fame in 2005 Toshio Arita started his business carrier as a production engineer of advanced production technology in the pulp and paper industry, and
faced printing in the market.
After that, he drafted a new packaging business (a packaging system for frozen foods with paperboard/plastic materials) and launched it from scratch. During this time he mastered the cutting edge technical areas in Pulp-Paper-Printing-Plastic-Packaging.

Packaging Ltd.(MP) (former name: Dia Packaging Co., Ltd.).
During this time, MP established a fabless business model of "total packaging supply without factory facilities" through collaborations
with Mitsubishi group companies (paper, plastic, aluminum, packaging machinery).
